Welcome and thank you for visiting my page. I am passionate about providing psychotherapeutic services in a warm, empathic, and ethical setting. In my therapy, I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can express yourself and your concerns freely. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and families who are motivated to engage in therapy, and I encourage you to contact me at my confidential voicemail at (813) 357-9612 to discuss your questions and the changes you wish to make.

I specialize in providing psychological services to children, adolescents, and families and often see individuals experiencing grief and loss, trauma, depression and anxiety, eating disorders, parenting concerns and skills, adjustment to medical conditions, and family conflict. I value input from you throughout the therapeutic process while also using the most reliable and validated treatments available in the field. My areas of expertise include grief and loss, trauma, depression and anxiety, and family therapy, which I describe in detail below. Throughout your therapeutic journey, I am excited to provide you with hope, peace, acceptance, and the necessary skills to navigate through difficulties you may face.

Special Areas of Expertise:

Grief and Loss – I have a special area of expertise in working with individuals and families who are experiencing grief, bereavement, and loss. Often the process of grieving can seem isolating and difficult to navigate. I focus on helping you express your grief in your individual way while providing you with skills and tools to grieve in a healthy manner while helping you find peace, comfort, and acceptance of your loss. I also recognize the highly sensitive and individual process grief can present for individuals, and I always collaborate with you to help in your journey through grief. My previous work in a neonatal intensive care unit and palliative care for terminal and chronic illnesses has added to my passion to be a supportive and warm therapist throughout life’s most difficult experiences.

Trauma – I have extensive experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and families who have experienced traumatic life events, such as sexual, physical, and/or emotional abuse. It is extremely important to me to provide a safe therapeutic environment for you in which to discuss your thoughts and feelings regarding your personal trauma experiences. I have specialized training in providing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and often utilize relaxation techniques throughout the course of treatment. My goal is to help you process the traumatic experiences so that you can increase your coping skills and receive information about the impact of trauma on yourself and loved ones, while providing you with techniques to reduce the over-arousal that often accompanies traumatic memories. We identify and expand on your innate abilities of resiliency and recovery. I welcome you to discuss your needs with me so that we can begin your journey towards healing.

Depression and Anxiety – I also have substantial experience providing therapy for individuals and families coping with depression and anxiety. I utilize a collaborative approach to treatment of depression and anxiety while focusing on helping you increase your enjoyment of life and interpersonal relationships again. While depression and anxiety are common difficulties, the right tools will allow you to navigate through the sadness, guilt, withdrawal from family and friends, and anxiety and renew your passion for life and new experiences.

Family therapy – I enjoy working with families regarding conflict, intergenerational trauma, and communication difficulties. I work with you and your family members to increase understanding of family dynamics and patterns that impact adaptive, healthy functioning within the family system. Together, we will focus on creating healthy, effective communication and relationships between the family members in order to increase problem solving. I welcome traditional and non-traditional families, and I look forward to helping you and your family enjoy your time together.
